Newton County Clerk is responsible for recording and maintaining minutes and records of all acts, orders and proceedings of the Governing Body of Newton County which is the Newton County Board of Commissioners. The Clerk also is committed to providing an environment whereby said minutes and records are readily available for review and inspection by the citizens and staff of Newton County.

Ordinances and minutes are available online for informational purposes. They may also be viewed at the Office of the Clerk of the Newton County Board of Commissioners. Official copies of these documents may be obtained by contacting the County Clerk for a fee. Marriage license may be obtained in the county probate court or circuit court office.
